The Giant's Causeway
The Giant's Causeway is located in County Antrim. It is made up of approximately 40,000 basalt hexagonal columns and runs for several miles of Northern Ireland's Coastal route. According to Irish myths and legends the columns are the remains of a bridge built by a giant named Finn MacCool. In the story, the bridge was built by Finn MacCool so he could cross the sea to Scotland to fight the Scottish giant Benandonner.
The Giant's Causeway is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and creatures large and small have made it their home. From lounge lizards and basking sharks in summer to seal pups in the autumn, this tourist attraction is one not to be missed for anyone with an interest in the beautiful yet wild outdoors and nature enthusiasts.
